I was at the ces and the xa160.8's were used with the sony speakers. Sounded great with a lot of depth.

but Sony speaker are 29000$ ca. or?

xa100-8 or xa160.8 in europa are available in 2 month ca. and what for price!
-> a pair NEW of xa100.5 can you have with 45% discount...

Cool, sounds good. Now I wish I could have heard them. Close but no cigar in my case. Next year, I'll hit their room first...

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for breathing some life into this thread. I think we've still yet to hear from any XA-100.8 owners. I'd like someone who has owned both to compare and contrast the XA-100.5 and the XA-100.8.

I have changed my focus to the rest of my system. I recently added an ARC Ref 10 preamp to go with my xa200.5's and am continuing to evaluate speakers. I have until the end of the year to do my amp trade for the .8s but I want to get my system dialed in and then a/b the amps. I do wish we could get a little news from the new owners. I saw on another thread a used xa30.8 has already moved on Audiogon.......very interesting?
