Britt......Like Jeff suggested, you may want to try installing the speaker wires from the amp directly to the woofer terminals. This is how I have chosen to connect my PMC EB1i speakers. I want the lowest frequencies where the largest current draw is happening to be fed from the woofer terminals. I want to feed the woofer directly from the amp, and then feed the midrange and tweeter through the pure silver #10 solid jumpers.

Dan.......when I ran jumpers on the EB1i I noticed there is not much contact surface due to the round jumper, I took a small ballpeen hammer and flattened each area where the binding post knob comes in contact with the jumper.......now you will have flat on flat surface with more contact area between the binding post and jumper plus a more air tight connection.

Jeff.......Thank you. Good idea. I'll give it a try. And guess what? That tweak is free. .

Thanks for the suggestion about running from the amp to the woofers, and on up with the jumper. I've got another fish in the pan, too. Jeff was very helpful in taking me through the installation process for the Oyaide R1 outlets. His customer service is outstanding.

So the bottom line is, I am burning in a new Oyaide R1 outlet (I bought two, with those fancy carbon plates over heavy aluminum base plates). But I kind of have my hands full right now burning in both the jumpers and the first of two R1s. I won't be able to hear anything like an improvement for maybe 100 hours. Some report changes up to 500 hours on the R1s. Wow, that's a long burn-in time frame.

But once I get the R1 burned in I will play with the Oyaide jumpers. For now I'm just killing two birds with one stone and burning in both the first of two new R1s and the jumpers together at the same time.

P.S. I'm not sure how I ended up on this thread. I had intended to place my initial post with photos on the the Cables Galore thread. (I think I searched Oyaide, and ended up here. My bad.)

Doug.......Those locking banana connectors are WBT Nextgen angled solid silver connectors (WBT-0610 AG Nextgen). I also installed the WBT gold plated copper crimp sleeves on the Kimber 8TC cable. Once the crimp sleeves are on the cables, the ends are inserted into the WBT angled connector and two Torx screws are tightened to hold the crimp and cable in place. The WBT connectors come with the Torx key. A nice extra.

I just ordered two more sets (4 to a set) from Jeff at A/V Solutions. I should have them by next Friday. Click on Jeff's A/V Solution banner at the bottom of this page if you want to order a pair. Jeff will treat you right. The WBT Nextgen angled solid silver connectors will be replacing the WBT Gold plated Topline straight locking banana connector I am using with the SF Guarneri Memento's and MC501 amps in the studio system.
