Default 19 speakers with only 4,500 gently driven miles

I'm not a huge fan of the aesthetics of the D3 line. I'm very happy with my 803 D2s and have been considering them my last set of speakers.

But then I found this set of 19 attached to a 12-channel 1,400 watt amp in one very handsome case IMO. Based on the famed nautilus design, they feature spiral diffusion chambers to absorb reflected sound and reduce resonance.

Road trips to take the dogs hiking in New Mexico and Colorado should be a whole lot more enjoyable now.

Nice styling and I am sure the sound is amazing. Certainly much better that what Bose attempts to pass off as speakers.

Congrats on the new ride!

Ugh. You are so right. There are Bose speakers in my car's factory sound system and they're just awful.

Pecos, Latir and Columbine Hondo Wilderness in NM; mostly around Crested Butte in CO.

I'm in DFW area. B&W sound will now make the drive through west Texas more tolerable now.

This Volvo is at top of my list, along with the B&W package, when I replace my current lease next year.

Let us know how the sound is after you spend some with the car.

12-13 hrs, but I 'gain' an hour with time zone change. Folks in DFW have been escaping to cool dry mountains of CO in summer for years, so I guess it's just in our DNA. Good sound will make it so much more tolerable. I try to engage the dogs in stimulating conversation, but they prefer to just read their comic books. I actually organize my CDs by part of trip. Piano sonatas for a quiet calm 5am departure, then blend of symphony and acoustic jazz for several hours, with Dire Straits, Pink Floyd to help jolt me out of the late afternoon lull (live performances with pumped up crowds help stimulate). Lyle Lovett is always appropriate going through desolate west Texas and panhandle.

Sometimes, I go to Santa Fe for a couple days of day hiking in the Pecos before heading up to CO. That breaks up the drive.

I see you're in MT. I used to hike in the Bob with friends, but since I now solo hike, I stay away from grizz country.
