Why don't you do the old break in trick? Face the speakers to one another so that the drivers are face to face, wire one speaker out of phase (to cancel out as much audible sound as possible) and just leave them playing white or pink noise all day while you're out?
Will speed up the process

How tightly is the tweeter housing on the 804 D3 attached to the top of the cabinet? The local dealer has had some customer complaints that it is loose.

Considering these for my upstairs system.
How do you like the sound integration of the 804d3 with the older gen center?? Is it enough of a difference that you would want to change the center for a the newer one?? |

there is a soft flexible connection to damp any vibrations between the mid and the lower cabinet, and between the mid and the tweeter housing. Makes it feel like a loose connection if you are unaware. Look at the parts lists on the D2's and you will see.

Having a mid that is vibrating the cabinet doesn't sound encouraging, especially since the matrix construction is suppose to control cabinet resonances.

I have not had a chance to listen to TV or Movies yet. My plan is to upgrade the center as well, as the sonic signature is noticeably different on the D3
