Two pellet rounds shot at my windshield
Marlene and I went out to eat bar-b-que this afternoon. On my way home, driving west on Hwy 90 through Lake City two pellet round were shot at my Expedition windshield. The impact was quite loud, much louder than if it were a stone pouncing off the glass, and startled the heck out of me and Marlene. By the time I realized what had happened I was a block or more west of the impact point. I saw a Lake City Police cruiser in the Wal-Mart parking lot, so I pulled in and spoke with the officer. He examined the glass, agreed with me that it looked like damage from pellet pistols or rifles. There is a small bit of metal in the center of each damaged area. I am pissed to the maximum about the incident, and would love to get my hands on the offenders. Thankfully it was pellets and not a powder actuated shell like a .22 or larger caliber, which would have come through the glass. The Lake City Police officer took my statement, made a radio call to move a cruiser into the area where the incident happened, and gave me a case number for my insurance company if it is needed.
I doubt the punks will will be caught unless there are other windshields shot, and someone sees them in the act. This type of mindless offense is so dangerous. I could have been so startled as to have caused an accident. The police officer said I was lucky the windows were up, and the rounds didn't come in through an open side window. It certainly made me uptight, mad as hell, and now I have to go through the trouble of getting a new windshield installed in my new Expedition. I am thankful Marlene and I were not injured. I hope the bastards get caught.

 but I am glad you and Marlene are ok .I had a simillar episode a few years ago, I was driving along and the whole passenger side window exploded all over my wife. I never did see where the shot came from. Just be glad nobody was injured and move on  Rest assured eventually whoever did this to you will get caught doing something else . I am a big believer in poetic justice.
