Hi Toga,
For a powercord it is a bit different, as here the cable can do some "filtering". But the air and speed you are talking about comes in the signal with the main speaker cable. I can understand that the Nordost jumpers limit current a bit, but they can not add air and speed if the main speaker cable doesn't have this in the transported signal. I think it might have to do with burning in of the jumpers, if they are the same as the main speaker cable, the air and speed will come back with the added bonus of more low frequency energy. What I appreciate with my humble V3's, is how they move out of the way, they really manage to project a wide, high and deep soundstage. I can imagine that if you have the same (and probably a lot better) with the Q7 with the added bonus of more energy at the frequency extremes it must be fantastic to listen to music. Enjoy, Olaf

Olaf, point taken. I will report more when I get TYR 2 main speaker cables may be next week.
To see what happen if there is no Transparent's beefy cable entirely from amp to speakers. And replaced with Nordost MMF technology cables. From my experience, any additional or change in signal connectors or cables anywhere, be it upstream or downstream, From wall sockets to speaker terminal can change the sonic "perception" in any ways. rhodium plated wall socket can make System with dull sounding sound airier. Also silver or rhodium plated banana plug can bring airier perception to mellow sounding System too. I am sure Transparent jumpers do require some running in as they have massive dielectric insulator. But they will never sound the same as silver plated conductor with air insulated Nordost. For now There is nothing more to report about Q7 initial set up. As I feel the forced burning in is sufficient now. Woofers Work a lot better than before and there is no more anomalies in the sound anymore . I will do the rest of burn in process by daily use rather than forcing with burn in tone 24/7. Now they have 120 hours. I will post new topic when wired with Nordost and/or lowering on their proper feet. However feel free to ask anything Regarding this initial set up/ burn in . Thanks for following. Toga |

Finally I connect ARC REf75 to Q7.
Transparent network box is about to airborne, but at least it make it to the terminals of Q7. For normal listening level, the meter of ARC barely moved. And of course ARC sings big time. What in plastic cover near speaker is MIT HD120. I tried it. And Transparent Reference MM is sure To stay. Toga |

I just got Q7 accessory case today.
These feet are very heavy, more so than Finite Elemente Cerabase. So surprise that there are jumpers in the case too .. But The banana connectors don' t look to be of high quality. At least There are two different types banana plugs mixed. Toga |

Are you going to try these jumpers?
If you can, please compare them to the Nordost and the ones you're currntly using (Transparent, right?). I'm getting mine soon, and I'd appreciate your input thanks, alexandre |

Ok, sure I will let you know. Will do tomorrow.
Heard they are MIT's. from my eyes, they are stranded silver plated copper cables, or May be just normal soldering that I saw as silver plate. so many cables to listen to now. 4 sets of jumpers. MIT MA-X 2 IC and MIT HD120 SC are Here too. Let alone many combinations of settings that can do to alter sound on MIT network boxes. Let me know too please do you get Q7 jack set for free or not. Congrats in advance. They are really good speakers. Toga Last edited by TOGA; 05-28-2013 at 02:13 PM. |

Today will get Shunyata Anaconda loom and Kubala Elation loom.
Must be interesting. I wanted to go OPUS, but looking for alternative that can save me $$$. I accept anything that approach 90% of Opus performace if it save me 50% or more |

The Q7 have the best bass I ever heard: tight, deep and with a sense of impact which is unique. Your dealer should do his work, i.e., help you place the speakers properly in the room. Different positions can lead to peaks and dips of more than 20dB: I would bet that what you are hearing right now is the room, not what the speakers can do in the bass. My personal experience is that moving speakers on a grid and taking measurements for each position will have you save a lot of time and energy.
Also, I wouldn't even try to build an opinion with so little hours on the speakers. When I got my Q1, they sounded not so good for the first 100 hours, then the sound opened up and kept improving until around 1000 hours where it stabilized at a magic level: just keep your Q7 running for 2 weeks, at a normal listening level. |

Jazzman, yea, they do have great bass. No issue anymore. Bass is deep, powerful and tight.
I did measurement with XTZ software, I know how bass response changed with each movement, So I can guess-timate the position, but before dropped down, I will measure once more. They are more than 100 hours now. From my experience with Q3, 1000 hours is what they required. But now they are good enough to let me try some different cables just for fun. Toga |
