Perhaps high end audio isn't dying at all, but evolving. That would be a good thing.
It's been evolving as long as I can remember....

Exactly, same here!
The audio world looks completely different now than it did way back when, when I bought my Rectilinear III speakers and Scott 4311 tuner.

Only as a positively last resort scenario.

I'm sure the intent was to say a UDP that did 4K Blu-Ray and all the other formats including DVD.

Some folks still might (probably the same folks still playing CDs). But why bother if you can stream pretty much anything you want (you can even stream 4K which is MUCH better quality than DVD).

This is exactly what led Oppo to get out of the business. Can't see Mc touching this segment.

In the country in Michigan they do. And, they also have DVD, VHS, Cassette, and Blu-ray stores. Try to get a high speed stream for anything and high speed is 25 megabytes per second not the 300 plus the city slickers get.

I’ve been buying some Blu Ray concerts to keep myself occupied during the lockdown. Highly recommend these two that have PCM audio at 96k/24b (4.6Mbps). Incredible sound.

1) Alanis Morissette - Live At Montreux
2) Pink - The Truth About Love Tour

I don’t do streaming not sure if video can be streamed with this audio quality.

Yes Jim. Folks still play DVD's. I just paid 69 dollars for "Love Supreme" off ebay. Arrived in perfect condition. Amazing black/white original and then the Marsalis remake DVD and also CD. On Amazon the cost was 323 dollars for a new original.

I think CD, SACD, and DVD may be around a lot longer than folks think, but what do I know?
