Need speaker advice
I am going to get my MC275 to pair up with my C2200 sooner than I thought. I am selling my current system (MC40x2, MX110, and Klipsch Chorus II speakers.
Here is my dilemma, I have never owned speakers other than Klipsch and Advent vintage larger and smaller loadspeakers when I was in college a thousand years ago. I simply do not know what speaker would work well with the MC275 in a 15.5'x14" room. The main goal is to downsize the speaker cabinet and still reproduce sound befitting the Mc gear. Another thing is this setup is temporary. This September I am breaking ground for a 2.5 car garage with a second story man cave that is 24x32. I will have Khorns in that room. What can I say, I live in Arkansas, knew Paul Klipsch, and I am addicted to the sound of the Khorn. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. If possible I would like to stay below $3000. |

If you are a Klipsch fan then perhaps just stick in that same product line.
The beauty of the MC275 is that it can make an overly bright speaker (like most horn loaded speakers) sound so warm and sweet it is mindboggling.

wgrr.......Check out Audiogon. There's a good looking pair of Klipsch Cornwall II speakers listed right now for $1050.00. The MC275 will make them sound great.

Corwalls are great speakers. I don't know if they are an improvement footprint and size wise over the Chorus II. However, they would make great rear speakers in my future surround system once I get the garage built.
I considered Heresy speakers with a good powered sub. If I choose Klipsch it is pretty easy to find them locally and up to 3 hours away. Shipping is getting expensive. |

Brian (Klipschfan) has lowered the asking price of his Cornwall III's in the AA selling forum, very highly recommended for your consideration. You won't need a sub, my Cornwall III's have a JL F-113 sub which is leftover from when the Chorus II's were down in the man cave. CWIII is the best all-around speaker in the Klipsch Heritage lineup and one of the best speakers for the money ever built IMO

MC275 is a very nice amp. Have used one with- Klipsch Cornwalls Acoustic Zen Adagio Jr's. Dynaudio BM-15P Thiel CS2.3 Have tried other brands of speakers, but always wound up back with a Heritage model or at least have a Heritage model to swap out with. The clarity and dynamics of Klipsch are hard to beat and nearly impossible to compare with other brands in the same price range. If you get a chance to hear a pair of Tannoy's-think you may enjoy those too!. Best of luck in your quest!. |
