I worry that red speakers may become less appealing than a more neutral color eventually. Also, as much as I love the look of high-gloss finishes, I hate swirls and scratches even more. Guess I would prefer one of the M-cast finishes for decades of worry-free use.
Sorry for the late reply Dizzie, that example is in Titanium grey. The photo was taken by Jeff Fritz as part of the Soundstage review of the S5's (which is a good read btw ) - SoundStage! Global | SoundStageGlobal.com | SoundStage! Global | SoundStageGlobal.com

Cheers,

Thanks Jsli I agree. I've seen the pewter finish up close and it is very nice. It looks really good from the listening seat, but up close I find the flecky finish a bit of a negative. It actually sparkles like granite which I guess some would like, though not me. The premium gloss finishes look more sophisticated imho (similar to the Vandersteen 7).

ps: sorry for the slack reply!

I suspect the gloss titanium is an upgrade?

If ordered before 2013 the gloss and m-cast finishes were the same price. As of 2013 the gloss finish is an approximately $3000 up-charge.

Always disappointing when manufacturers become arrogant.

I like the Bronze. I think it blends in better than some of the other colors.

I agree.

I like the other colors too, like titanium, black...but are well "old" color

Bronze is nice, neutral & modern.
