Napa Valley, California is a wonderful place to visit. Don't miss the wine cellar tour at the Korbel Vinyard, not to mention their fantastic Champagne tasting room.

Dan,

If you like bubbly, the terrace at Mumms in Napa is wonderful.

Also, in Sonoma, visit Gloria Ferrer. The winery sits on a hill with a terrace overlooking the vines. A fantastic place to enjoy a bubbly.

So many other nice stops in the valley...

Mike

In addition to all the National Parks that were mentioned, don't go far from Yellowstone National Park without visiting Grand Teton National Park.

We should also remember the eastern parks, like Acadia National Park in Maine. While you're there, don't forget the morning hike up Cadillac Mountain and become the first to see the sun rise in the continental US.

Dan, Looks like you've made a few great trips to the west coast. You have hit some magical spots. Joey

As mentioned by Dan and many so far, I'm also a big fan of Oregon where I lived for 16 years as a close-by place for me to visit. We have done our annual family reunion there the past few years, the last couple of times at the central OR coast in between Waldport and Yachats (between Newport and Florence). My aunt and uncle live in Astoria so I'm also very familiar with Seaside and Cannon Beach. Crater Lake is beautiful and worth seeing - I need to get my kids there to see it sometime soon.

I also agree with the Yellowstone and Grand Teton recommendations. If you like the outdoors, Idaho is a great place as well (Sawtooth Mtns included)!

I really enjoy the SW US also - New Mexico is a lot of fun, and probably where I want to get back to visit the most right now! I love the green chiles in the food there! Northern Arizona (Grand Canyon and Sedona area) is also beautiful!

I had a lot of fun on my visit to Kansas City when I was in college (awesome barbeque)! Florida was great also (visit to Disneyworld, Epcot, Universal Studios, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, etc.). My visit to Cape Cod last summer was certainly a memorable trip as well!!
