You can remedy that by adjusting the rake of the speakers, I did that with my IIIís

That would defeat the primary advantage of Tractrix based horn speakers, controlled directivity. Less side wall, ceiling, and floor reflections is what separates Tractrx horn from round horn and common cone speakers. Reflections cause distortions to the original signal which lessens the quality of the listening experience.

Theoretically that sounds good but the proof is in how it sounds, I experimented with rake on my IIIís and it opened up the soundstage. I had no loss transparency, no loss of macro and micro dynamics, it improved the overall presentation, try it for yourself.

Pointing speakers towards the ceiling will do that.

It really didnít take much, like I said try it. Theory is just that theory, itís ok to be wrong, the end result is what matters.

Was at a small bricks & mortar shop this week auditioning some speakers. I mentioned I wanted to hear the new Chorus & Cornwall and he said he has been trying to get them in. But, Klipsch is telling him he has to take Khorns & LaScala's, as well. That would be ridiculous in his small space. They wouldn't fit/work well and would also take up a large percent of his floor space. Hopefully, he will get it worked out and I will be able to A/B with another speaker he has that interests me. Is a nice shop as he is a tube-o-phile and into vinyl (is actually in a used vinyl store). My kind of place.

Anyone heard the IVs?

Edit: checked with the two shops within a reasonable distance and both have Cornwall & Forte IIIs in stock and don't anticipate having Cornwall IVs until their IIIs are pretty much gone.

I heard the new Cornwall at Adirondack audio in upstate NY. They were paired with Tsakiridis Devices, a low power SET 300B from Greece. I was mesmerized by the sound. It filled the room with beautiful warm sound at very low volume. There wasn't a hint of brightness. I was so impressed that Im considering switching my SF Elipsa with Macintosh gear to the above set up. I couldn't believe my ears. It was magic.
