I love Silvestrov's works.

They have a dreamy quality, are intelligent and give the listener a good feeling.

I didn't know what to expect from the pairing with an obscure 18th century composer, but his music is actually quite okay.

I might even listen to more of his works.

Just catching up with this, what a great album. I’d never heard of Silvestrov, it’s quite beautiful.

Yes Tony, Silvestrov is a bit like Arvo Pärt: intelligent, melodious and accessible modern music.
But what di you think of that 18th century composer?!

Indeed. Hood Canal. And you Tony?
It's great to find a Classical Music Forum. I have nothing against Rock,Country or Jazz, but nothing beats Bach and the Boys from Greater Germania.

I currently listen on JBL 4410's Altec 411's for really low bass with
H/K and Marantz amplification.

Keep On Listening

I’m in the foothills northeast of Bellingham, out towards Mt Baker. There are quite a few Seattle area folks in our group as well.

Hooray,

I just received via US Mail, Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen. I can hardly wait to get my greasy paws on it and listen to it at concert level.
