See below statement from Spotify’s community site - note this is from February of this year. Spotify still lists on their site 320kbs as their highest quality. Not sure what your setup is, but perhaps something in your system is upsampling, or 16/44 is the transfer rate of whatever your source is, but not the actual stream quality.

Hi all, Spotify Staff here.

We don't have an offer for lossless playback. The absolutely best way to let Spotify know you would be interested in such a feature is to leave your vote and comments here: "HiFi Quality - Lossless Streaming 16bit 44.1khz"

I can assure you the feedback in the Idea Exchange is being passed on to the internal teams on a very regular basis. As soon as we have any updates on this we will post in that thread first.

Thank you for coming to the Spotify Community to give us your feedback. If you have any questions please post here.”

Then, all I can say is that the MB50 must be making Spotify sound at least as good as CD's in my system, and every bit as good as Tidal. Maybe the majority of audiologists who disparage the audible affects of digital sampling rates are actually right.

Spotify does have the “Spotify connect” feature which is awesome as there is no need to use the playfi app. I greatly prefer Spotify over tidal and amazon HD from user perspective, unfortunately the others do sound a touch better. With the recent rollout of amazon hd I jumped at the trial offer. the playfi app currently has no option to save a song to playlist, or create a playlist, search function doesn’t remember search history and is hit or miss finding content that is on the site. Uber bad...

I've had the MB50 in my system for about a year now and love the sound and generally don't mind the Play-fi app. It needs to be fairly close to the internet router with strong wifi signal to avoid dropouts. My biggest complaint is that after the latest play-fi update there is static noise between tracks and when closing the app. I'm currently searching the forums to see if I can figure out what's up.

Don't bother searching, it's on the app side not yours. They are aware of it and hopefully will be fixed soon?? I am regularly emailing Playfi with complaints and suggestions. I find Play fi to be very disappointing for my use. I have nothing else to compare it to except the streaming services own apps which are much much better, but only spotify connect can be used with playfi. I'll be most likely be looking into Roon and another streamer.

FYI I get the static between every song while playing an album or a playlist and at the end of either. very annoying. Please confirm if you are only getting that at the end of an album or playlist?
