I found a pair of used Klipschorns for 5K. But I dont know if these are significantly better/louder/different than these new ForteIII. Has anyone any insight into this?

I don't know the specifics on the Forte III but don't you have a direct/radiator woofer in there, comparing to a horn loaded Khorn?
As good as they may sound, I doubt a Forte would be able to come close to pressuring the room like a Khorn can. Again, I don't know what drivers/horns are in it....but if you want to find a sleeper, look up the KI-396 and the possibility of mating it with a subwoofer. My opinion (not having heard the Forte I, II or III) is that the KI-396 will likely out perform it. Based on the reasoning that the 396 has a 2" throat horn and the Forte likely has a smaller version. That really opens things up and lowers the distortion. You have to hear those 2" horns to believe them. I've started calling the K510 (the upper horn in the KI-396 "the little horn that could" |

I just ordered a pair of Forte IIIs. Actually just canceled the order and upgraded to the Cornwall III.
