Default New Old MC Step Up

My analog journey continues... I was smitten by this MC Step Up with transformers marked Shibaden Tokyo Japan. The transformers are dared 1945 and marked WSC-Type 69. The seller claims these transformers were taken from a Tokyo broadcasting station and made by Tamura for Shibaden. The wiring is all high quality cloth covered so this was either purpose built as a step up or put together as one early on in its life. I will pair this unit with my 1958 Thorens TD124 and SME 3009 Series I Tonearm rebuilt by SME Tonearms.com. Sometime later today I will order a SME SPU to have it on hand when the new iron arrives. I was close to buying the excellent choir Audio SUT-7, but I just had to take a chance and try this old iron first. It's a chance I know, but oh man just look at that iron...
