Mr88
Question for the MR88 Owners......I have a MR88 and plays beautifully in my system. I annoying problem I have is that the Blue analog LED pointer will simply disappear at times and will not return until powering off and than on again. If I don't touch the tuning, the pointer will stay lit.......after a few turns of the tuning knob and it is gone. I have switched XLR cables and the power cord.....no go. The curious thing is that if I have it powered on with no cables or antenna attached it works flawlessly and will not disappear. My antenna is a full size FM antenna that I have in my attic. Could the antenna be the culprit....XLR??
I upgraded the firmware to the latest Version 1.11..... Outside of this small deal the Tuner plays magnificently!....very close in sound to my MR80. I will give an depth review and some pics soon thanks |

His had to do with "Ghosting".......It doesn't seem like the Pointer actually disappeared like mine.
Thanks |

Mcintosh has no fix as of yet....The led stay lit if I go slow across the dial...it's only when I move quickly that the indicator goes astray. I can live with that. The display at the bottom is perfect and works as it should...that's where you see the station ID anyway. Maybe it'll be addressed in a next update. By the way....I tried the update to Firmware 1.11 with A current Intel CPU and Windows 7 (supposedly OK).......I almost bricked my unit. At the last step it would not load the new Firmware after erasing the present one. Just sat forever. Luckily I had a laptop with Windows 10 loaded on it and was luckily able to initiate the update.....and it worked flawlessly.........so be careful if you try the update with anything other than Windows 10.
Thanks |
