Saw the lafites at a hi fi shop in New York today but the person in the shop can't wait to get rid of me. I was hoping for a listen but apparently was not possible. I was contemplating to sell my silverbacks to buy the lafite which may be a better fit in my small listening area but have reservations that i might miss 'the full range sound' of the silverbacks. I can understand the frustration that many shindo enthusiasts are unable to audition shindo products before buying although I bought my Masseto, Aureiges and Montrachet without audition without regret.

Check out Don Better in Cleveland -appointment only, so you'll be treated like person, not a pest. Best selection of Shindo (and related) gear i've seen. While you're here, stop by the rock hall, take in a tribe game, see the orchestra at severence hall, and eat at some world class restaurants for cheap. Not a bad way to spend a weekend!

Yikes, this is the second comment I've seen about unfortunate store treatment on the EC...hope a trend isn't forming.

I’m not defending bad service, and obviously I can’t comment directly on both of the customers who had a poor experiences at a certain E coast store. I'm really sorry to hear that. However, it is worth pointing out that both of these experiences (I think) happened on busy weekend days. Personally I couldn’t think of a worse time to seriously examine high priced gear – the store is going to be very busy and noisy. I’m sure that if you set up an appointment at said store your experience would be as satisfying as a Pitch Perfect or Don Better visit – both of whom only (correct me if I’m wrong) see customers by appointment. My 3 visits to In Living Stereo were all positive – but I made appointments ahead of time.

I am hesitant to make comments on this, which is the reason I did not on that previous occasion. However, I cannot say enough about the great personal service I have received @ ILS. As the last comment hinted upon, their store is just different than a home based dealer. I have been to Don's and ILS, where I was equally satisfied. At Don's, I never heard even a phone ring. ILS is in the heart of the city, and they now have a vinyl shop onsite. Things can get a little hectic there, at times. It may be just the owner, and one salesperson, if I am not mistaken. Not to beat the previous advice to death, but an appointment would make sense. Hope this helps !

My situation didn't involve much store traffic at all. Matt though in contrast is amazing.

I understand what your saying, but that really should not a be an acceptable excuse. I have been there a few times and had pleasant experiences, however this is the 2nd comment about the poor service. Hopefully ILS has not changed because of their new location.
