I would be cautious about the power conditioner if your antennae/cable is already properly grounded to the house ground. Try and see. The conditioner cannot be better at rejecting extraneous frequencies/noise than the tuner itself, otherwise it would be a tuner. I would increase the length of the first cable sufficient that it can reach directly to the tuner to keep your options open. https://www.kusc.org/wp-content/uplo...eception-1.pdf

Now I have to decide whether I'll relocate the antenna, as that determines the length of the cable. Or I could just get the 25ft length (way too long for where the antenna is now), and deal with the excess slack if the antenna remains in place. One experiment is to relocate tuner and antenna to what seems to be the only other place they could go in my room to see if that yields better results. That setup, however, involves some effort and creates logistical problems as the antenna would displace some items I have nowhere else to put. I'll have to think about this one.

Good luck! So, an indoor antenna? FWIW, there are simple tools available for cable terminations, if you need to cut the cable. These are standardized connectors as they have to be. Practice on an old cable first, but easy enough.

I have ordered a 25-ft. Belden 1694A cable. Here's hoping I got the length right, with enough slack. If I leave the tuner where it is, then this is waaay too much cable. Since I'm looking to overhaul my room, I may get away with the 25 feet for the alternate location of the antenna; I'll relocate the MD102 to the opposite rack also, in that case. The 1694A should arrive next week via Priority Mail.

As it turned out, the cable on my Day-Sequerra antenna is longer than I thought, so I didn't need the new Belden cable after all.
However, I got hold of a MD ST-2 antenna, which also comes with a 25-ft cable. I will get that set up at some point and see how it does; I'll need to do a moderate overhaul of the living room first, to create placement possibilities. Will plan to report any results once the ST-2 is connected.
