Default What is so attractive about McIntosh?

So, what is it? I am in the UK and would love to know what, why, how etc. about McIntosh in the eyes of US users.

McIntosh is both audibly and visually seductive. Its rather like a drug; once you try it, you may be hooked for life. Its also the only gear I've ever owned that seemed almost alive.

John.......As long as you continue to listen to Marantz and Simaudio you may never know. Take a walk on the dark glass side and discover for yourself. You may never go back.

It's NOT made in China!!!

I'm not in the US but I love the look, the feel and the quality! It's also a product that stands out and not the same as everything else. It's performance is solid! I just makes me feel good.

I can agree with what everybody has said above. There is a lot of gear out there that sounds great and also has a very high build quality but nobody can beat the look of McIntosh!

especially when you dim the lights and just listen to the music.

There are two dealers in the UK John, one in Scotland and the other in Dorset I think, but they are charging equal £ to $ prices.

The same reason many people pick a Mercedes. They/we believe it to be superior.
