I have thought about that but there is only so much a home theater can do until it is overkill. 4k is great but I am not upgrading my tv just for it and the hdmi while cool would cause me to rewire my system.

Thus my plan was to get a good pre-amp that will prove me with a great sound which I will not be so inclined to update. I can always buy a less expensive home theater system for a lot less than a new MX151.

But I have thought about both options. The denon 4311 does a great job with home theater processing but not so good on 2 channel sound.

With that said I am having a heck of a time choosing between the C2500, C2300 or C50. My dealer is would like me to go with the 121 or 151 but I would really think I would get better 2 channel sound with the pre-amp. Confusing!

Your dealer probably knows if you buy either of the 121 or 151 he is also going to sell you the c2300 six months later.
Preamp is going to happen trust me it's happened to probably 90% here

I tried a c220 I and it made huge difference the c2300 is in another league again dan will probably back up this.
I have tried at least 5 surround sound things, a Pre amp seems to always sound better my opinion.
