Default REF 2 SE upgrade cost

Hello friends,

I just received a quote from my Paris dealer for the upgrade of my REF2 to the SE version. It will be available at the end of March.
3300 euros taxes included. Seems pretty high to me. I don't know if the french importer will have to send the unit back in the US or will do the upgrade here.
How much does this cost in the US ?
How much in Hong Kong Howie ?
At 3300 euros, I'm not sure to do it...

Thanks Cyril !
It makes more sense to me.
I may end up sending my unit directly to ARC.

Not sure here Jerome, but my guess is similar to the US.

Your price seems unreasonable although may be your dealer needs to calculate overtime above and beyond his 39 hour week

Whew! 3300 Euro! That sounds quite expensive to me, Jérôme! Sounds like importer/dealer is taking a hefty cut for the cost of the upgrade...

That's like $USD $4,000....

Do you think it will be worth the money and time? Doesn't the SE version have Teflon caps that will need to be burned in?

Stephen,

The cost could be justified if he has to send it to ARC because you can add then around 500 dollars of round trip shipping ( this is is a discount price that the importer may have : it would cost me around 700 dollars I think ) to 2200 dollars so you get to 2700 dollars. And then the importer has to make some money on this, and the dealer too but still yes, it seems very expensive.
And of course, I will have to burn in the unit again.

yes, I also called ARC about this and it is US$2K for the upgrade directly through them. Calvin mentioned that they were waiting on some parts before beginning this option but you can call to put your name on the list and they will call you when your slot comes up to send in your ref2.

But I have to negociate this before because I won't pay 3300 euros for it : that's for sure....
