Still have the Altec 14s. However I now play them alternately with the Bostons which I have reconnected all the drivers and using the normal way, rather than as subwoofers to supplement the Altecs as I had been doing previously.

The T1000 is nice speaker in its own right with clean flat response for most listening; Altecs for specific other kinds of music where they shine the most.

Good to know you're still enjoying them. I'm not sure if you're using the original mod 14 woofers but I've read that the 414-8B or 414-8C 12" woofer is an upgrade to the original 14 woofer. I've used both the 414-8b&c and I prefer the C. However I've used them in 614 cabinets and currently in 9849 monitors but never experienced the 14's so I cannot compare. Try them some day I think you'll like the 414.

I worked at McIntosh dealers from 1978-1981 and sold some of the equipment you own, I knew they'd become classics!
