Hi all, I'm an old AA member, but I've been out of the loop for a while.

I just got a new DirectStream DAC with Bridge II and all I can say is that my initial impressions are outstanding. I've been streaming Tidal through the quirky but excellent sounding Mconnect app and it just keeps getting better.

I'm in a temporary housing situation (new job) so I'm using just the DirectStream directly feeding 2 channels of a McIntosh MC206 amp driving an old ML Depth sub and a pair of B&W N805 stand-mount speakers. This simple little system was good before, but with the addition of the PS Audio DAC, it is excellent. The old B&Ws are really exceptional. I cannot wait to get the PS with my Raidhos, JL sub and big Mac amps!

The service at PS was terrific as well.

Are you guys using the MConnect to stream Tidal including MQA files?

I read that many were having issues with it, but it seems to be working well for me.

I use the Bridge II that can be added on to the DirectStream DAC. The new Huron firmware is MQA friendly.

Yep MConnect here too. Some might wanna play around a bit with the options -Mcontrol or MRemote. Both work decent in my case -do make sure you go to settings and set the highest quality available 'HiFi / Master".

I've had my DirectStream DAC now for nearly three years. Since I bought the unit, I've applied each and every firmware update provided by PS Audio, and each has provided me with a welcomed improvement in the sound quality.
My last purchase was to snag one of their DirectStream transports, with the I2S connection to the DAC, the best sound quality I have found so far!
Also, I have a P10 PowerPlant from PS Audio, really like their stuff!

Default Direct stream junior

Can room correction programs like audessy and men room correction systems be used on the direct stream junior dac when being used as either a pre amp or outboard dac? A huge thank you to anyone who can help me with this,
Thank you.

There are room correction apps on computers like Amarra that would work

Or something like a Behringer DEQ with Digital outputs.

May be a new FPGA code coming out soon to replace Huron, named "Redcloud". Said to fix some issues regarding noise at low volume levels, lower THD and a few other things. Reports from the field say that it will be another step up for an already terrific DAC.

It's Christmas!!!
