My apologies for not posting my pics of the event yet. After having a wonderful time at the Extravaganza Saturday, I awoke Sunday morning in our Cape Cod hotel room with a bad head cold. We managed to get out for a two hour drive that afternoon, but I spent the rest of the day trying to sleep. I finally started to feel a little better yesterday, just in time for a delayed flight home and getting my ears stopped up.

I am finally doing pretty well today, with most of the congestion and clogged ears going away, so I will try to get the pics uploaded tomorrow.

At least I was able to thoroughly enjoy the Extravaganza! It was superb as usual!

Apparently more than the LuFlu virus was floating around in the Cape. One is cured with a pill and the other with a credit card.

I hope you feel better and really look forward to the pictures.

I just wanted to thank Ivan and his family, once again, for another fantastic and fun event, they seem to get better and better each year. I know how much Shanna and Donna were worried about the catering and let me say the food was absolutely fantastic, they pulled it off as usual.

It was great seeing all the familiar faces from previous events and was nice getting the opportunity to meet some new faces. I especially enjoyed lunch; Shanna always makes for engaging conversation and was nice getting to know Mike (Mchydro), seems like he and I have a lot in common with our box set of McIntosh.

Now to the man cave . . . . I am not sure how Ivan brings himself to leave it.

If anyone asked me to define the perfect 2 channel room and Home Theater, my response would be see the “Cape Cod Theater” sticky on AA. It truly does not get any better than Ivan’s creations, it is perfection. I have had the privilege to experience both the “Florida Room” and now the “Wall” and they BOTH are truly a labor of Ivan’s love. Don’t ask me to choose which one I like better because I simply cannot as they both are special in their own way.

As I sat in the Home Theater waiting for the first demo I was taking it all in. I saw all the familiar gear that I expected . . . . Sony G90, XRT2Ks, Gothams, and XCS2K. As I was reclining my seat and Richard was preparing to start the Demo I said to myself, “Oh boy this is going to be great” and it was. The GI Joe and Iron Man 2 demos were breath taking and I had front row seats at the Toto concert. It was so cool I did the Demo twice, when you’re at Disney World if you have the opportunity to ride twice you take it.

The 2 Channel Room was AWESOME!!! My favorite tracks were from Peter White and AC/DC Back in Black on vinyl. The MC2301s and Strads delivered a memorable performance. We were rocking around 105db and there was a lot more left in the tank, you simply can’t play AC/DC at low volume.

As I reflect on the extravaganza, I know how much time, Ivan, Donna, Shanna, and Richard put into this event with coordinating all the equipment delivery, the catering, parking, security, equipment setup, expense, and the Friday night meet and greet, all so the AAers could have an unforgettable experience. Ivan strives to please and the event could not have been any better. The only draw back was not being able to spend more time with Ivan since he was in high demand at the event. To conclude I just wanted to personally thank you Ivan, Shanna, Donna, and Richard for the warm hospitality, you guys are simply good people and I value our friendship.

Ivan thanks again for all the work and expense you put into such a fantastic weekend . The meet and greet at your club house Friday night was great , the superb party at your home on Saturday was truly a experience I will remember . My wife Lisa also had a great time ! It was great to see you again and meet other AA members as well as experience the "ultimate man cave" you have …. in a word the weekend was spectacular
