I was looking at this too the top line on the back actually says " 5 amp fuse, slo blo." If you look at the old fuse in there it will say BUSS MDQ 5. The 5 means 5 amp. Below that line it says T3.15. This is weird. All ARC gear on the back lists two values for the amp rating of the fuse. The upper line is a higher amp rating than the lower. Why two values? Since the fuse they use matches the upper value, what is the meaning of the lower value.? Sent from my iPhone using A.Aficionado |

The top line is the value. And the second line is the size and type of fuse. It is a 5 amp 1 1/4" (large) slo-blow type fuse.

arises.......I don't own any ARC gear that I can look at so I am only guessing here. Perhaps the lower rating shown is the fuse value if the component is operated at a higher voltage, like 220 or 230 volts.

Please check your owners manual for correct fuse rating.
ARC REF 3 manual says 3A slo-blo (T3A for 110-120V) or 2A (T2A for 230V). Using anything else than rated value will void any warranty and is a safety risk. If manufacturer/seller of the fuse doesn't give rating, don't use it.

The correct values for the REF5SE are as follows,
5Amp 110V Slow Blow = USA 3.15Amp 230V Slow Blow = UK and Europe |

^ Yes, always use value rated for your exact model.
REF3 vs REF5 have power requirement of 125W vs 130W but probably due to difference of power supply capacitance, REF5 requires higher current capacity for switch on the unit.

To find out for sure , draw the fuse set by AR . Gather a magnifying glass ( over 50 years ) and read the amperes fuse
