The last 5 days on Radio Klara, our classical station were dedicated to Tchaikovsky.
I just heard this on the radio, and I decided to stream the whole album:

Tchaikovsky - Variations on a Rococo Theme in A major for cello and fortepiano - Piano Trio in A minor
Sergei Istomin, cello
Claire Chevalier, fortepiano
Martin Reimann, violin
vai Tidal

I have heard/seen Chevalier live on numerous occasions.
But the cellist and violinist are equally good here.
The Variations are absolutely delicious, the Piano Trio is played with vigour.
Recorded in my neck of the woods.

These Toccatas are insanely hard to play on the guitar (and not exactly easy on a keyboard instrument..), but he plays them wonderfully. Well recorded, too.

Superb on all accounts.

.
Agreed on the "Superb", Bart. Just DL'd the "Symphony No. 2" and "Orchestral Music" albums, and you're spot-on. Thanks for the heads-up.

Some American music:

Copland - Orchestral Works 1 - Ballets
BBC Philharmonic, John Wilson
Qobuz 24/96

Beautiful and highly interesting music, well played, and equally well recorded.
What could you wish more?
