A bit of Shostakovich this evening
Symphony No. 5
Mstislav Rostropovich conducting the London Symphony Orchestra
LSO0550 SACD

Very nice, and wonderfully engaging
Regards,
Jim

Try Bach, say the Goldberg Variations. Or maybe Kraftwerk.

CD 2 - Francesco Geminiani - Concerti Grossi con due Violini, Viola e Violoncello di Concertino Obligati, e due Altri Violini e Basso di Concerto Grosso

Same ensemble as CD 2.
The words that come to my mind are joy, warmth, effortlessness.

Default Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade

I'm enjoying this again...

Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade
Reiner, Chicago Symphony Orchestra

RCA Living Stereo Hybrid SACD Limited Edition Series from Analogue Productions

Absolutely magnificent performance and sound quality. Hard to believe this is a 50+ year-old recording. This Analogue Productions SACD provides startling clarity and transparency and of course the CSO plays magnificently. A great release.

^^^^^Carlos, have you compared this with the Living Stereo SACD? I have that one, and it is seriously good!

First serious listening in a couple of weeks, lots of travel:

C.P.E. Bach: Symphonies 1-4; Cello Concerto in A

Excellent recording and performance.

Dvorak: Piano Trios Opp. 65, 90 "Dumky"
Triple Forte
ATMA Classique

Outstanding performance by Triple Forte on the French label ATMA, very well recorded.

Amazing, but I'm listening to this very disc right now.

It's an excellent performance and even better recording.
