In my store, I have a Wisdom Audio STS woofer ( a large, passive, dual 15" driver subwoofer- 101db sensitive and a 4 ohm load, flat to below). Even with this extremely high sensitivity, I have found there is no substitute for power. I have tried a Classe mono amp (1200 watts into 4 ohms), a new, still prototype anthem m1 mono amp (2000 watts into 4 ohms), and a crown macro reference amp (2800 watts into 4 ohms). The best for this application was the crown - but it has a fan, making it only applicable if you can locate the amp outside of the room. It had the most control and taughtness of all of the amps. I have also tried amps rated at a few hundred watts and even with this sensitivity (101db) I found them un acceptable. Bass transients can require huge amounts of power.

Sorry for the misunderstanding there. To clarify: I personally have not seen in person X2's paired with WATCHDogs, nor have I viewed any photos submitted to me of this combo - but this is not to say that it has not been done.

Basially what I was trying to say, is that I have no experience with that particular combo, but I do with X2's and Thors (which tends to be a popular matching!)

Happy listening!
