I loved my DV-50s when I had it...had to step up to dCS and spend a LOT more money to better it on audio. But I miss playing DVD's. I guess I can go get a Oppo...but that DV-50s sounded (and looked) killer good on DVDs...

Thanks in advance
---- Esoteric is first an high-end audio company.

In the days of Universal DVD players it was the "mode" for high-end manufacturers to come up with their own.

Nowadays you can buy an excellent picture Blu-ray player for only $99.
Why compromise the audio quality with video circuitry?

So, just makes total common sense.

I think you nailed it...first they are a hi end audio. Just in the days of DVD, they had one KILLER dvd video player (again wish i never sold my dv50s). Just wishing they'd come out with DV60 blu ray or a UX3 or 1 blu ray...lot's of high end audio folks also do video (like me)

I may end up with a Oppo via my dCS Scarlatti (using Oppo's spdif output). I know Ayre has a blu ray but 10k just seems like a lot...

Thanks for the comments (and the humor above)
