Doug, have a macbook pro with ssd, "music only", if it works then it'll be a nas with Synology or something similar, from there it's finding the right dac that has the sound & ticks all the boxes.

Sounds like a plan. I'm guessing you have the MBP connected to the Oppo's digital input for now? The '95 has a pretty sweet DAC in it already. You might be hard-pressed to find something better. I'm sure it depends on what kind of functionality you need.
