That's a very picky list and I have no worries with a lot of them. That's just from someone who chose not to enjoy the movie.

I mean you're complaining about sound in space? All the other alien movies had sound in space so you follow the trend.

You complain about the beginning? High brow? That explained a lot of the relationship between human creator and David which I appreciated. The movie is about David btw.

You complain about neutrinos, sensors, pods, following some robot guy (yeah like they knew that when they were saved)....

i mean come on, did you even want to enjoy this summer flick?
I thought the movie itself was pretty good, just a personal thing with me, but I'm not a big fan of the direction of the storyline that Ridley Scott is taking. I think the story would be better served as more of an evolutionary/biological storyline rather than a rogue android doing science projects to create aliens.....again it's just my preference but I find it kind of dumb. Fassbender is a great actor though.

A Picky List!- I spent good money to watch a movie & want it to be well written & acted, obey most of the laws of physics, and have me care about the crew, & entertain/scare the pants of me.

This movie did none of those things. Obviously, my expectations are much higher than yours.

To have a crew land & walk around an unresearched & unexplored planet, with no technological assistance is DUMB. Why not have drones fly ahead & map the area & look for hostile life forms (as they did on Prometheus), why not wear suits when you haven't tested the planet for pathogens?

This is basic stuff.

Even my boss uses a drone to check out the surf conditions before he goes Kite Boarding & he lives on the beach! This is basic 21st technology- but a Spaceship that is being sent billions of kilometers away from Earth, that looks high tech- doesn't have basic low-tech equipment like drones or probes that would be invaluable in finding the John Denver singer & not place the crew at risk.

Scott defied logic just to have the crew go into harms way to propel a (weak) story-

I can enjoy a movie with minor plot holes, low IQ actors doing some dumb things, changed premises, bending the laws of physics etc (just like the first 2 Alien movies) IF its still believable overall- this movie just doesn't make the cut.

BTW: Its winter at my end of the planet & it was damn cold that night!

(I can strongly recommend the 'Black Mirror' series of made for TV programs on Netflix which peak into the future, are well written & acted, use technology, explore the human condition in relation to the effect of technology on human life, & as well as having humour, mixed in with genuinely disturbing parts that make you think hard about human v technology- rather than an AI robot that seems to be more Machiavellian than your garden variety Despot.)

It didn't hold a candle to the original in my opinion. Gorier, for sure, but utterly lacking in fear, suspense, and atmosphere (pun intended...). Not to mention it was at least 30 minutes too long. Maybe I've seen too many of them, or I've lost my taste for ultra-violent sci-fi movies. I shan't be seeing any further sequels.
