Jesse, pick a few more winning stocks and go straight for Wilson Sasha. You'll find everything you are looking for in that pair if speakers.

I have no doubt it would come down to a face off between those two audio giants for me.

Jesse, go ahead and spend time comparing but I'll tell you right now, with Sasha's, it's game over...

Jesse...given your previous entry about the realistic size of the soundstage that your Maggies throw, just be prepared for a smaller soundstage from monitors (not necessarily narrower or less deep but you will not get 6 ft high soundstages as with your maggies...i think it is beyond any monitor to throw off a vertical dispersion pattern that can pull that off). having said that monitors will often disappear much more so than 3-way floorstanding speakers and can still give you a very wide and deep soundstage (assuming associated equipment and room can pull that off as well). Good luck with the speaker auditioning process :-)

Best monitors I ever heard no matter the price, are the ATOHM GT1.

Trying to find a monitor system to do what Maggies do is a challenge indeed and quite possibly... impossible as you say. I find that with every change there is gain and sacrifice. One has to find the optimum trade offs. Life size and life like soundstage is turning out to be a sacrifice I may not be willing to make.

I never put the OB1i's in a 2 Channel position but they are accurate, balanced and fast. They would benefit from 2 F112's.
When I flipped back and forth between them the OB1i's are nice but the extended bass from the EB1i's has me sold. If I never heard the EB1i's I would be completely satisfied with the OB1i's. |
