If you will decide to buy new good but not expensive headamp - I can recommend you something. You may find some info and pics about my headamp in my thread here: http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...tml#post467463 I paid for this exclusivest version 950 USD (such brand device will cost 3 000 - 3 500 USD) . Manufacturer is still produce some new models which cost less, I can tell how to find this guy. |

What's your budget for the amp and what headphones do you have? If you don't have phones yet what's your budget for those? I am sure there are plenty with opinions for you, including myself .

I have some Sennheiser HD580 headphones for the moment.
I haven't considered a budget figure yet but I will be making a purchase by Christmas (Thanks, Santa!) to resolve the issue. If I go with a separate head amp I'll need a new DAC with more outputs than I have on my current one. I don't want to split the current output signal and I don't have another way to get send a wireless signal to my sub except through the lone RCA L/R outputs on my current DAC. It appears I either go with a DAC that has an inboard headphone amp or get a new DAC with more outputs and a separate headphone amp. I truly appreciate the input!
