Default Mapleshade rack finally here!

So on my birthday, January 22 I decided to go with a Mapleshade Sampson V.2 equipment rack. I've been looking at these for years but it never quite caught my interest because of the threaded rod concept. One day after having to send back another rack that came in with too many errors I was again looking at the Mapleshade site. Somehow in all the times I had been there I had missing this particular set up using the 4" shelves.

This spoke to me immediately and I was hooked. I just loved the massive look of it with the large 4" thick shelves. I initially had a height issue. My TT is wall mounted so I had a height restriction. After a couple of calls to Mapleshade a solution was arrived at and I placed my order. Yesterday the Brown truck pulled up and I met him with my cart. Here it was in all of it's 168 pound shipping weight.

Here it is all unpacked and ready for assembly. As you can see I went with keeping the hardware in unfinished brass. I even had them send me the hardware early because I was going to get it powder coated black but once seeing it after I unpacked it I decided to keep the natural finish.

So now it's time to tear down the old rack, do a little cleaning and assemble the new rack. I will obviously post photos when complete.

Their racks have always appealed to me as well. I look forward to seeing your rack assembled with gear on it! Congratulations on a beautiful hi-if rack.

That is a beautiful rack. Can it be made with an extra shelf or would that be to unstable?
congrats.

Best

Joe

Do they offer any kind of screen to attach to the rear of the rack to hide cables?

I've been very happy with my Maple Shade stereo rack.
Their stability is irreproachable, in my experience, especially compared to another popular brand with maple shelves, which was a nightmare for me.

Congratulation on the new Maple Shade Rack. Like those 4-inch shelves.

So the rack has been built and the gear installed. Actually I had the rack built last night but after tearing down the old rack, cleaning up, hauling the new rack upstairs I ran out of energy. Also I was in no mood to haul the Mac 302 upstairs. I figured that was best left to do in the morning. Here are some quickie photos of magical quality. The better ones will come later.

The amp makes it way upstairs. Since they only get bigger and heavier from here this will probably be the last amp for some time that goes up these stairs...

Ivan McFooter & Ivan McHandle bling for the gear. I still need to install the handles on the amp...

New rack loaded...
