Well, apart from my laziness, there are other excuses, Gary. The photos I posted in the first page are actually from more than 3 months ago. I've been using the W4S mAmps (meant to be used with surround channels) to drive the main speakers for a while now.

Unfortunately, I've experienced more than emotional trauma from my Bryston amps being scratched. The household voltage was 240V nominal, while my Torus AVR conditioner and the main amps were rated 220V. With my electrical knowledge next to nothing, I misunderstood about changing the Torus AVR jumper voltage setting and fail to calibrate the unit properly. So the amps blew up when the household voltage swang up too high. They've have alredy been succesfully repaired though, but still at the local distributor's shop. Hope to transport them back soon.

With that, and also my waiting to add a center speaker and a speaker stand, I'm still not sure about the sizes of the platforms for those apms quite yet.

Initially, I planned to put all my equipment and racks in front of the room. There would be two rear speakers, so I thought it would be nice to hide some cabling under the wooden floor. Thus, the indentation along the perimeter of the room.

For supposedly better stereo imaging, all the front end equipment are now being placed on the side of the room instead. I would somehow be able to partially utilize such flooring prepration when all gear are in place.

Thank you, Jim.

Yes, quite a good deal of planning and problem sovling along the way.

Still some more to do and think about in the next few months, I guess, before most of it would come together and I can concentrate on just enjoying the music.

Awesome room!!!
Would a large Persian Rug on the floor in front of the speakers dampen excessive floor bounce?

Our previous home had polished Tawa wooden floors (Tawa is a light honey coloured New Zealand Native Wood) , and I found that a heavy rug in front of the Martin Logan's I ran at the time made a large positive difference.

Cheers
Nick

Thank you, Skinzy & Nick.

Yes, I'd love to have a large Persian Rug. Been checking the nice pieces. I really like the traditional pattern. It will be a while for me to have the budget for that, though. : )
