Best Panel for Ceiling Mount?
I'm looking for a lightweight panel for easy ceiling mounting.
My man cave has an unfortunate "northwoods" pine wood panel ceiling. One of these years I'll renovate, but we just had a ton of work done on other parts of the house and I'm not ready to be disrupted for at least another year. Anyway. Pine wood paneling. Due to all the bright surfaces in the room, it 'overloads' at volume if the recording is bright. I'm pretty sure I need to treat the primary reflection points with treble attenuation. I use the GIK panels for the walls with tiny nails holding just fine. The ceiling will be a different story and I don't want to drill significant screws into the wood. Has anyone experimented with a DIY panel comprised of the same acoustic panel GIK uses and a cloth covering (read: subtracting the wood frame that GIK uses)? Such a thing would be super light...
