MS 300 part needed.
Does anyone know where I can get a CD transport for my MS300.
The drawer is jamming, and not opening again, so I called McIntosh to try to buy a replacement. They told me they don't service MS300's.  They gave me a service company in NJ who repairs them, but I don't need someone to repair it, I just need the drive. Of course that company wants me to ship it to them, charge me $75 to diagnose the issue, and then another $75 an hour to fix it plus parts and shipping costs. I would rather not ship it. If I can get the drive it is literally a 10 min job to replace it. any ideas? Thanks

Hi Chuck, since you're eager to look at the unit yourself, maybe it
wouldn't be such a bad idea of opening the MS300 and try to see what's the case of the jam. Maybe a quick inspection shows that it's nothing serious. Maybe oiling the rails or something. I'm just saying that unless something broke in a nasty way and you have to replace it anyway, maybe it is not something terminal. My two cents. Sal

It's just a computer changing the the CD player should be a peace of cake. The only thing that might be complicated is fitting the draw adapter to the CD player. Good luck. I tried loading disc into my MS300 again last week and it was hit or miss getting the door to open. When I am bored I will pull the unit out of the system again and try to adjust the screws. The last time I had it out with the top of there were no issues opening and closing. Of course when you get it back into the system is when the problem starts.
