Julian, I always loved the sound of Maggies but have never owned any. The 1.7s are visually beautiful in your setup and I bet they sound great there! Craig

I have a pair of 1.7is as well. They are musical and an exceptional value. I'm looking for an integrated to pair with these along with a second room in the house to listen to them. With young kids, the relatively large size of these speakers make placement tricky outside of my dedicated listening room since their profile makes them vulnerable to bouncing balls, careening toddlers, etc.

In any case, I'll use my older DAC (Ayre QB-9 DSD) as the source with a microRendu to allow me to Roon. Any suggestions on an integrated amp welcome. I'm considering a Rogue Audio Sphinx or a Parasound Halo Integrated.

Just curious if anyone tried upgrading the fuses in the Maggie's and if so, what was the results.

I replaced my jumpers with copper ribbon jumpers from Mapleshade.
I do think it made a difference in clarity.

Likewise for my 1.7s. It amazes me how well these sound down at 35db. When the house is dead quiet I find myself looking up when reading wondering from where that beautiful music comes. Congrats. Mine were modified with care by the previous owner.

I had a pair of 1.7's for about 5 years. They were very nice sounding speakers and a bargain at their price point.
