Hi Winniepoo,

When I was playing with Marantz PM-11/Focal 1037Be, the soundstage took also place between the speakers, this got better after accurate placement of the speakers, both tweeters at same distance from listening spot. After that I got improvement in sound stage after adding some NBS power cords (black label and Active II).

Same setup but with Accuphase E-550, the sound stage opened up further.

I am not saying this will work for you too, but it might be worth trying before auditioning other amplifiers.

Olaf

the thing is that I curently cannot move/place the speakers anywhere else in my current room.
I guess I will have to wait until my next appartment to make so changes and get the next step.
I'll stick to my current setup which is already not bad at all until then

Hi Bvdiman,

I don't think the room is reflective, think it has to do with the microphone used for recording, when I listen to the system the voice from Nathalie Merchant is nicely centered and size wise very believable, but after recording the voice bcomes diffuse and the low frequencies a bit muddy.

Anyway it's just to give an idea how it sounds, I have tried using it to record changes in my system, but that's a lost cause with this microphone, probably will have to spend a lot more to get an accurate recording.

Olaf

When will you post a video of your great system, even with a smart phone the results are not too bad nowadays

Imaging etc are superb, just sensed a very slight upper-mid glare only at peak vocal volume.. So attributed it to the reflective tv screen, as at normal level it was all still well and nicely controlled..
Ah well, could be the mic too as you suspected. Again that was nitpicking.. As is, your recording is already super good (reason for my hesitation uploading amateurish mobile ones! ), can only imagine how music must be sounding heard live from your seat! Enjoy..

Olaf, how does the E-600 and your Magicos play together. Do you feel you have enough power and dynamic range?
