Equinox 6
Hey guys what's up. Today I got my Equinox 6 speaker cables + jumpers. I wanted to get the 7s but I wasn't going to wait until they started production on the Equinox 7, plus the changes aren't all that big. SO i got my Equinox today
 I gotta say, when you open the box up and see these wires, it's pretty impressive. From the pictures I've seen everywhere possible on the internet, I couldn't tell they were so thick and bulky. Very impressive.The fit and finish on these are top notch. I also received a set of Equinox jumpers. They have the same quality feel.. The configuration is: Equinox speaker wire, banana amp end ---> spades speaker end. As soon as I got home I started to install them. They are bulky, and it took me about half an hour putting them through the speaker stands. They won't take a curve as easily as the one's they're replacing, the Stream 16/2. Which leads me to say, the Steam 16/2 from Wireworld are very good speaker cables. They served me well, and were responsible for making me believe (i perfer the term know) that speaker cables do make a difference. I recommend them to anyone with a low budget who wants to start to experiment what quality speaker wires can do in the system. But once the Equinox were installed and I hit play on the computer, I have to admit that it's not fair to mention them both in the same review. It's a mayor step up. Wow. I have a long way of burning in to go, but I can definitely say that first impressions are very positive. The upgrade was not subtle. The word that keeps coming to my mind is CLARITY. These cables are crystal clear, extremely transparent. I just realized that there was an electronic haze that I had that I wasn't aware of. (Sort of like when I did the experiment changing all my cables with all my old cables a couple of weeks ago). And just to make myself clear, non of this is " I think" ," I suppose" or " I got the impression". No, changes are there, palpable, real. The Equinox showed me a clear, transparent picture I've yet to have heard from my speakers. So ok this is it for now, I'll keep you guys posted. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the cables before installing them, I was in autopilot mode once I received those cables from UPS. Congrats Simon! It's really is amazing what a step up in wires can do for you. Report back after a few hundred hours and let us know if they've settled in more. I really enjoyed the Equinox 6 SC's that I had in my system and found that they really hit their stride after that amount of time. Nice system btw...

Simon....thanks for posting your impressions and photos. This is of particular interest to me since I'll be upgrading my speaker cables in the near future, as the 4th phase of my upgrade plan. I've been upgrading my interconnects to Equinox, and the differences I've heard so far were not subtle, just as you say. My next phase will involve seven pairs of Equinox inteconnects, and following that will be the speaker cables. I have a serious eye on Equinox for the speaker cable upgrade.
