Smile Luggage

I have been in the market for some good durable luggage as of late.
I have been looking at Away and Monos. Any other suggestions would be great

Default Luggage

I guess it depends on what kind of travel. When I was traveling a lot for work (75-100k air miles per year, but I know that’s not by some standards), I used Tumi carryons for years with no issues. It’s expensive but worth it in the long run. In retirement I still have an old Tumi, but my wife and I now have Victorinox, which have been great for occasional leisure travel - durable, practical, and reasonably light.

+1 for Tumi. Had two sizes of rollers and an all leather over the shoulder briefcase for years and years.

Wow - either you’re traveling when no-one else is or looking ahead for the good times. I moved to Rimowa right before the lock down - given what I think will be the downturn in business travel combined with the quality of those pieces, I suspect they will last me for the remainder of my travels. Can’t go wrong with Tumi.

Briggs & Riley for me for the last 20+ years.

Their U78 large roller garment and other pieces have stood the test of time, lifetime warranty too which I've had to test after American and another time Delta did their worst. B&R backed it up without issue.

I used Victorinox when I was flying 200,000 + miles a year. Inexpensive and moderately durable.

Another Briggs and Riley fan here. I’ve used them for 20 plus years and logged nearly2 million miles with them.

I forgot to say that I was a Briggs and Riley person for at least a decade before Rimowa - and really just wanted the change in style (which appears as it it will be my last one, as business travel will suffer in the long run from all of this). Briggs and Riley worked well and has great customer support and service.
