Audio Electronics Sixpacs? Anyone have?
Saw them on Upscale Audio website. Wonder why they are not branded Cary Audio? Also, how do they sound?

While I've not listened to them my understanding was this brand allowed Cary Audio to try new things before rolling them out under the Cary Audio name. AES is now no more.

I read that those are great amps for the money. I would try them if I needed small tube amps.

I had a set of them several years ago and I really enjoyed them! I sold them to buy something else but I wish I still had them. If I ever see a set at the right price and time I may own a set again. They had no problem driving my Maggies in my small room. Give them a shot, you'll be surprised.

Never owned the sixpacks but had the AE preamp with the 6SN7 tubes and the Antique Sound Labs the Wave monoblocks that were laughably cheap. Combined them with the now defunct Soliloque speakers and it was as warm and romantic system as I ever had. Dynamically rather soft but very enjoyable none the less.
Check out Antique Sound Labs, I thing you can save some $$$ and have a very similar sound. ANTIQUE SOUNDLAB |
