Life is too short for that ! BTW, I would never marry such a girl that marks each VTA setting for each record played. Can you imagine her in a bed ?

Jérôme.......You don't have to marry her. . . She could adjust my VTA and clamp my record any way she wants.

I own a TD160 also but could never get the heavier weights to work.....I have to use one's in the 5-6oz. range or it keeps the suspension too much in a compressed state and find it sounds much better with a less loaded suspension. I replaced the suspension but still have the same issues with heavier weight...Do you find any problems with TD160 and the heavier weight?

Jeff.......That's her! I wish I could afford weekly sessions, but I'm on the annual plan with no hope for recovery.

I have three clamps....a Basis reflex clamp (solid built like a fine piece of jewelry, like the way it twists into/out of locking position; sounds great on former Basis table and on current Atma-Sphere 208), a HRS Analog disc (easy to use and adds some weight to the sound), and my favorite that I still can't figure out why/how it works the Artemis Labs puck (tiny and light). Local hi-fi dealer had a blind test shoot out of a bunch of record clamps and this one won. It tightens the bass without adding any thickness, keeps things light and extended on top. I never thought a record clamp could make a difference -- my ears aren't that well trained and I could hear a difference. Sometimes I forget to put a clamp on (when I change sides of an album) and my ears tell me something is "off" and then I notice the clamp is missing.....go figure....

I know this may be scandalous in audiophile circles, but while I own several clamps (HRS, TT Weights, Choir Audio) and outer rings (TT Weights), I generally don't use anything the majority of the time (provided the vinyl is flat and in good shape). I have the same issue with mats. I've tried several (Boston Audio Design carbon, Felt, cork) and most of the time don't use anything.
