I have seen the Topaz (also under other labels) '-3x' (lowest inter-winding capacitance) units very favored and popular. Equitechs too, but they are mostly used in a balanced configuration, which some like.

As to the VA size, I've seen many succumb to 'extremophilia' with the 5KVA and 2.5KVA models
I decided to measure my entire audio/video system in full roar, then add some padding for peaks. This resulted in choosing a 750VA Topaz #91097-31, which happened to be available for a reasonable price on eBay. I still have to finish wiring it when I clear off my workbench...
