Hi Olaf, no worries, wasn't taking it personaly.

I still think the ML was little more open sounding, but this Pass is doing a great job here and it fits my current budget, so I'm very happy with it.

Fantastic setup! I'm curious where you got the white stand/rack that you're using.

I've added some new stuff to my set this week.
After struggling with the sound signature of my Esoteric I've asked a local dealer if he could help me with some cables. We've had a great morning swopping power cables and XLR cables (Audioquest, Crystal Cable and Shunyata) In the end I found back my sound with an Audioquest Wind XLR and NRG-1000 power cable.

Then he said he wanted to try one more thing as he just picked up and hadn't heart yet himself.
We swapped the AQ Wind for a Vovox Textura Fortis and within 2 second we both knew that this was an amazing cable.
Everything was correct, warm easy flowing sound, huge stage, depth, separation of instruments.

Budget-wise it turned out to be a bit of a no-go for now, but this Vovox is now very high on my wish-list

I ended up buying the NRG-1000 power cable and a Moon 310lp phono amp as I wanted to move back into vinyl after selling my ECP-1

Current state (the black Moon will be swapped for a silver one)

Cable mayhem, still with the Vovox, but they have gone back to the shop now

Hi Gert Jan,

I have been having an eye on the Vovox cables also, they have no shielding which can work wonders in some systems.

Are you happy now with the system ?

Olaf

Hi Olaf,

I was really impressed with the changes that the power cable and the interlink on my cd player made to my system. I finally found "de rust" in my system!
For now I'm back to the Yter XLR between my cd player and pre-amp and I ordered the AQ NRG-1000 power cable.
The Vovox was an amazing eye opener, but for now out of reach from a budget perspective, so I will have to sell some head-fi gear to fund it, but that cable will make it into my system one day

I've added another NRG-1000 power-cable to my system, this time to feed my pre-amp. What a difference this made to the sound of my system
The soundstage is wider now, better controlled lows, more details and an even more relaxed sound. Still amazed about the difference 1 meter of power-cable can make in a system.......

Also started building a new rack so I don't have to stack stuff ontop of each other anymore, loads more sanding and painting to do, but I think it will look good in the end

That is great Gert-Jan, congratulations on the new developments.

So I guess for you the cables making "the most noticeable improvements" in your system would be 1) speaker cables 2) power (mains)? Or the other way around?

All the best out of Argentina.

To be honest I don't know. I've been playing with my Yter speakercables ever since I got my previous Sonus Fabers, so I did not change them in 4 years. I was more blown away by the fact that 1 meter powercable can make such a huge difference as no "sound" travels through them and the they are a very small part of the complete power-network feeding my system.
I once found this diagramm that shows what the last meter means....
