Pictures with my new Leica M8 + Summicron lenses
My dear friends,
I know I haven't been around much. Truth be told, since my system - with your help and advice - reached the point where I love the sound just the way it is, I have become engrossed in a new hobby: photography. My interest in photograpy - and Leica in particular - is very similar to my interest in audio - and McIntosh in particular. In the last few months, I've acquired a nice collection of cameras and lenses and having a LOT of fun practicing street photography and a bit of 'artsy-fartsy' photography. I still have a long way to go, but below are some examples. I still read the forum at least 2 or 3 times and week and try to chime in if I have something to contribute. And I am very glad that Ivan set up a photo section, so I can keep in touch. Alberto |

Nice shots Alberto. I miss reading your contributions to this forum. Welcome back. Congrats on the M8. Did you get the M8 or the M8.2 ? Which lens are you using ?

Great Pictures . . Glad to see photography on this great audio site. Many of us audio equipment nuts are also camera nuts. Your work reminds me of Cartier Bresson and his street photography. You have talent.

Beautiful pictures Alberto. How much Photoshop manipulation was necessary to give the great B&W contrast etc - or are the pictures "fresh out of the camera"? In either case, you are a real artist.

Nice shots Alberto.
Over the years I have I owned a lot of good gear, but unlike my wife, I never had the eye for the great shot. I can see that you do. Jim |

Alberto, my eyes are drawn to the sky in #1 for some reason. Was that your intention? I might have added more emphasis to the road or perhaps made the sky a tiny bit less dramatic but that's purely subjective.
If it wasn't for the prices of the food and the woman's modern clothing in the background, #2 could have been straight out of the early to mid 1900's. The contrast of the depressed almost hopeless look in the subjects face while standing over a bounty of expensive crab is quite interesting. Did you have a thought on that? The following 3 are magnificently artistic as well. I could only hope to reach your level of talent someday. What was your shutter speed in #4? 1/200 maybe? Very very nice B&W/sepia photography.
