Or just sit in the big boy chair and go platinum.

If I had all the proper gear and bank account to support it, I would go platinum.

chops-tube: I use a Cardas Clear USB and used to use an Audioquest Carbon. The Cardas is fine and runs around $166 for 1.5m. Based on my recent experience with WireWorld Eclipse Silver 7 Interconnects, I will be upgrading my loom to all WireWorld in my main system - but that will be a major cost increase overall and I'll have to do it one pair at a time. I see you use Cardas elsewhere, and it seems in line with the rest of your system from a cost perspective, so why not go for that? Sure, it's not $60, but I don't think you're doing yourself any favors by going cheaper in one link of the chain.

The only Cardas I have is a really old pair of Crosslink's going from the DAC to the receiver. Everything else is Belkin HDMI (cable box, PS3, TV, projector), or the Mojo BNC-RCA coax (which can only be used on the Simaudio). The last IC is some no-name ribbon cable going to the amp.

In the end, I want to go with all Wireworld cables. Not the best grades obviously, but nonetheless.

Given your gears, I'd go straight to "Platinum" and be done.
You'll hear the difference, plus this will save you time and money (eventually).
Upgrading, buying only to re-sell in awhile is a pain.

Uh, no. No Platinum cables in this guy's near future, especially since I stated a couple times that my limit is right around $60.

As it is, I'll be going from the processing and such within my Onkyo receiver to a dedicated (tweaked) laptop streamlined just for music, running JRiver in a fully upgraded Bifrost DAC, a beefy, excellent sounding Mojo Audio power cable and Cardas Crosslink analog interconnects.

Oh, and did I mention I just ordered a 2M length Ultraviolet from Ivan? Also within my budget. Thanks again, Ivan!

I'm pretty certain I'm going to be gaining a substantial improvement in sound quality over the internal processing of the receiver alone.

I think Ivan has a short Platinum advertised on AA right now... if you could keep the DAC and MacBook Pro close it might be a great way to go.
