What a beautiful and emotional singer she was with a very unique way of phrasing.
i am envious that you saw her live. Wish I could go back in time and make that happen. Added Live At Vine Street to my must-have list. Listening to You're My Thrill as I type this, and its just as mezmerizing as Here's To Life.

I have that collection on CD, 3 albums.
They're excellent.

Default Radio Klara remembers Miles...

Today 25 years ago Miles Davis died.
Our radio is playing 6 hours of his best tracks.
Guests like the famous New York jazz author Ashley Kahn give historical background as we move from the early years with Charlie Parker over the great quintets towards the 70s and 80s.

Bill Evans, Jim Hall, "Undercurrent", MoFi, 33.3rpm. I also have this on United Artist, 33.3rpm, but wanted to hear what MoFi could do to it. They did a very nice job, I must say. I'll give a quick listen to the United Artist version to compare after this album finishes.

Thanks Bart, that's good to know. I'll have to get the first two, as I only have six Monk albums and those first two albums in that series aren't in my small Monk collection.

Ok. I've given both records a listen and even though Undercurrent was originally an United Artists release, the MoFi version sounds so much better, it's ridiculous. It's almost like the UA version was recorded on a dimestore portable cassette system in comparison. I'm not sure how old my UA re-release is, but I know I purchased it within the last ten years. Needless to say, if you have the UA re-release, you haven't really heard the music, IMO.

Tommy Flanagan Trio, "Overseas", 33.3rpm. Waxtime. Good sound, reminds me of digital, but compressed soundstage, as is usual with these cheap Waxtime records.
