So you wont own something that is meant to appeal to the ears, because it doesn't appeal to the eyes?

Absolutely. Of course what appeals to one may not appeal to another. But there are so many outstanding choices out there that can appeal to the eyes and ears, one need not compromise either, IMO.

I agree. If it doesn't at least fit in, I couldn't care how good it sounds. There are always at least 10 others that will look and sound good. NOTE: I am not knocking the looks or sound of Wilson's, just commenting on the importance of aesthetics. My wife doesn't care what my 2 channel room looks like, I do.

Has your wife seen the Elipsa yet? I've got news for you, ask any interior decorator about any speaker properly positioned out in the room and see what they say about it. Keep in mind, to you, it is a "speaker", to most women it is a coffin size box that doesn't belong anywhere in the room. I am talking about just about every floorstanding speaker, not just Elipsa. Having two large speakers out in the room does not go with any decor. At this point, it is a sacrifice a wife makes out of mutual respect for our hobby. Some wives are able to sacrifice, some won't. Speaker having wood vs lacquer vs metal vs paint surface hardly makes a difference, they are still two large boxes that don't make any aesthetic sense.

I never met a wife yet that truly likes the look of any speaker.

Some just shake their heads ( in front of you, or when your not looking) and some point to the door and say they have to go.

My wife just looks, shakes her head, smiles, and leaves the room.

I do the same thing when I see her buy pocketbooks.

So true Serge. And after all, for most of us, this is "our room" so who cares ?
