Just playing around with an old videocamera, not much left of the sound, anyway I love this song from Dire Straits on the Magico's

Hi Olaf, the E-560 sounded mighty fine driving those V3s. Congrats on what looks to be a simple yet very well balanced system! Enjoy..

Thanks Bvdiman,

I am enjoying the system a lot, for the space I have at the moment don't think I can do much better.

But looking at Toga's set up, I know that there is still something to dream about.

Regards,
Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I've been busy.

I'm using Audio Research- Ref 3, Ref Phono 2, Ref 210 monoblocks. For analog I have an Avid Acutus/SME V/Benz Ruby 3 for stereo. VPI Aries/JMW/Denon 102 for mono. Digital is currently an iBook/Apogee Rosetta 200 (subject to change). I'm still experimenting with placement and setup. I have a dedicated room, so I have a lot of flexibility.

hi Cpreal,

Many think it is not the best, but I have done the placement by measuring.
(after offcourse moving them around to obtain the low frequency optimum for my room), even adjusting the height of the speaker mattered (both now exactly the same).

This weekend I visited a dealershow, they were playing with Wilson Alexia, ARC ref250 Monoblocks, and full Dcs Vivaldi CD- player. (cabling MIT top line)
I really liked the the overall performance, but listening to my own setup after returning home was no punishment.

Hi Olaf,
This demo, the Vivaldi driving REF250s direct without pre-amp?

Hi Olaf,

Not sure I like the idea of metal speakers but yours look and sound great! What color are your speakers? I like your listening area as well. What furniture is that?

Can't imagine you need a tremendous amount of power in a 4x6 room. Do you have any acoustic treatment for the concrete?

Accuphase gear is one of my favorites. Looks classic and with exceptional build quality.

Now I'm going to buy Dire Straights Communique on SACD.

Thanks guys, still enjoying my set up a lot.

Luckily my room only needed minor acoustic solutions, when clapping in my hands the sound was reflecting around the room, after fitting some heavy curtains behind the speakers in the corners, from sealing to floor, the room calmed down a lot.

Only the front baffle is from aluminium, the rest of the speaker is birch plywood.

Still love to listen to dire straits, somehow I get never tired of this music.

The ref250's got their signal through an AR pre amplifier, but I cannot recall the number.

Olaf
